Being a Governor
Leading a society means holding a governance role, starting as the elected Camp Manager, renamed Mayor once the society reaches the Camp tier, or one of the specialised roles (Housing Manager, Treasurer, Legislator, Urban Minister, etc.). What you can do is defined entirely by your role's permissions. Tools available to government members with the right permissions:
Society Panel > Overview: view how your society (and all others) is doing financially, politically, and socially; rename the society (with the right governor role and permissions).
Roles tab: create roles (name, description, icon, slots, permissions, optional wage/schedule, and assignment method: elected or appointed) and manage assignments.
Finance: each society has a government Wallet used to pay wages, fund construction, and manage trade. It works like any other wallet, but only government Seedlings with the appropriate permissions can access or transfer funds. Transparency and budgeting are critical to prevent depletion.
Policies and Ballots: propose and implement rule-based policies; put changes to a vote.
Departments: once the Mayor has been granted the right, create sub-organizations (Societies Panel > Roles tab > "Create Department") with their own wallet, roles, and property. You define a Leader Role and assign at least one initial leader; the Leader Role automatically grants full permission to manage the department's other roles. A society can have up to 10 departments; deleting one returns its funds to the society, but a department owning buildings can't be deleted until they're transferred.
Land and territory: draw new plots, set claimable starter plots for newcomers, buy adjacent territory, and build Roads, Subways, and the Spaceport via the Land Planner.
Society announcements: Society Leaders post announcements and goals that members see in the Society Panel; new Cultivators are encouraged to reach out to leaders through Players Chat, so be responsive.
Moderation and seizure: with the right permission, leadership can banish a Cultivator from the society via the Society Window's Moderation panel. A banished Cultivator's Seedlings are migrated to another society, their possessions revert to the society, and they can't rejoin while the ban holds (if several roles hold the permission, the holders vote on it). Urban Ministers, Housing Managers and Prime Ministers can also seize privately owned plots and buildings for the society, with a confirmation prompt and no compensation.
