Employment
Finding a Job (Employee Side)
Use the Jobs app on your Seedling's mobile device to browse and apply for available jobs. Check the wage per hour, the working hours, and the tasks set. You can work multiple jobs as long as the working hours don't conflict. If they do, resign from a job to free the slot or apply for a different shift.
Job postings come from businesses (and other hiring organizations) in your society. If nobody in your society has been granted the right to own a business yet, no businesses exist and the job market will be empty. In that case, complete active society goals and gather raw resources (that's what advances the society until business ownership becomes possible), and ask in Players Chat for work or trade opportunities. Left idle for a full day, your Seedling will also start job hunting on their own and message you once they find something.
Hiring (Employer Side)
The Employment management tool is available in Business Branches. It lets you create job listings with a specific time and wage while defining the tasks employees must perform. Seedlings with an assigned job prioritize the required tasks rather than autonomously seeking other activities, and you can set different task priorities to match your business needs. To create a job:
Select a building you manage and open its Employment tab.
Click "Create Job".
Configure the job title, description, and number of positions.
Set the daily wage and shift hours (start/end times).
Optionally add required skills.
Optionally enable Quick Hire to auto-accept applicants instead of reviewing each application.
The posting becomes visible in the Jobs app for Seedlings to apply to.
Jobs and roles are the same thing under the hood: a job is a role created through a building's Employment tab; both have a name, permissions, optional wage, and optional schedule.
Limits to note: harvesting job tasks only work for resources on your own business's property. You cannot assign employees to harvest society-owned resources or another Cultivator's land, and it's not yet possible to create harvesting or mining jobs in the wild.
