Resource Gathering & Extraction

Direct Harvesting from Nature

Quick harvesting is your starting point for gathering materials in SEED. Walk up to any natural resource like trees, rocks, or plants and right-click to harvest.

How Harvesting Works:

  1. Left-click any harvestable resource
  2. Select "Harvest"
  3. Wait for completion - harvesting takes a few seconds
  4. Check your inventory - materials go to your personal backpack
  5. Automatic storage - items transfer to building storage when you have access (If your Seedling goes to a building with storage, they will automatically deposit their harvested resources)

Harvesting Strategy:

  • Plan your trips - harvest multiple resources in one journey
  • Watch your inventory - manage backpack space efficiently
  • Build harvesting skills - experience improves success rates
  • Check resource regeneration - natural resources replenish over time

Automated Resource Extraction

Resource deposits provide unlimited materials but require extraction machines to exploit effectively.

Deposit Types:

  • Stone Deposits - require Stone Extractor machines
  • Clay Deposits - require Clay Extractor machines
  • Water Deposits - require Water Pump extractors
  • Iron Ore Deposits - require Iron Ore Extractor machines
  • Copper Ore Deposits - require Copper Ore Extractor machines
  • Coal Deposits - require Coal Extractor machines

Setting Up Extraction:

  1. Build around the deposit - construct a building with outdoor area surrounding the deposit
  2. Place the extractor - machine must be positioned directly on top of the deposit
  3. Match machine type - Stone Extractor for stone deposits, etc.
  4. Optional - Set up sell orders - create market orders to automatically sell extracted resources
  5. Enable automation - Seedlings will move resources from machine to storage if sell orders exist

Key Benefits:

  • Infinite supply - deposits never run out
  • Passive income - automated systems work without constant attention
  • Scalable production - operate multiple extractors simultaneously
