Windows - SEED launcher blocked by windows defender

What's Happening?

After downloading our new SEED launcher, you may see a Windows security warning that says the app "might put your PC at risk" or similar messages from Windows SmartScreen or Windows Defender.

Your SEED launcher is completely safe to run. This warning is a false positive - Windows is being overly cautious because our launcher is newly released and hasn't yet built up enough download history for automatic approval.

How to Run the Launcher Safely

When you see the security warning:

  1. Look for a link that says "More info" or "Show more"
  2. Click on it to expand additional options
  3. Click "Run anyway" to launch the game

The exact wording may vary depending on your Windows version, but you're looking for an option to proceed despite the warning.

Why This Happens

Windows SmartScreen and other security features use reputation-based protection. New applications, even legitimate ones, may trigger warnings until they establish a positive reputation through widespread safe usage. This is a common occurrence with newly released software.

We're Working on a Fix

Our development team is actively working with Microsoft to resolve this issue and prevent future false positives. In the meantime, you can safely ignore these warnings for the SEED launcher.
